Le Cafe Michi is one of the most deceptive Sushi restaurants I've ever been to. It's located in a sketchy strip plaza in Scarborough, and at first glance it looks like a Cafe where you have afternoon tea and eat cake.
There is a whole selection of cakes and truffles encased in glass like any bakery you'd go to, and a slice of any cake is complimentary with a meal here.
A few things to note about this restaurant
it has one of the freshest quality sashimi in Toronto (no joke)
the price is therefore a premium - but you really get what you pay for
it is actually run by Japanese people (i know, what a surprise right)
the wasabi is LEGIT, not some powdery whipped cream
the salad and cake are mediocre but they are complimentary
the staff are nice and hospitable but their English is very bad

I got the Cafe Au Lait Chirashi ($36.99 - I think)
(note: I don't know why it's named Cafe au Lait because there is nothing Coffee related in this menu item....)
which is a selection of sashimi on a thin omelette on a bed of rice and eel
The bowl looks small but there is actually a lot of food in there.
Sashimi was excellent but my favourite is that tuna ball with the dots of wasabi.
The salmon was good too, they are amply sliced with a melty texture
The egg and eel were a nice addition but I wouldn't say they are exceptional. However the eel was not smothered in teriyaki sauce which I am impressed about.

For dessert I chose the Chocolate Sake Cake
It was not bad, I did like it
Had a hint of Sake flavour which worked with the Chocolate very nicely
I would definitely recommend Le Cafe Michi but make sure you make reservations beforehand because the restaurant is quite small.
